from Robin on Monday 26th May 2025 ... It was a great party and we must certainly do one in the Sunninghill Comrades Club again. These two photos above were the best I saw, on our little family Whatsapp group, and I thought they must have been shot by June, because she's not in it ??? But I was wrong, and she said she left the party at about 9pm - good to see those guys we recognise near the bar ;-)
I said early on it was a bit of "an experiment and test" - and it paid off, as I half expected: Saskia and Gary stepped in to organise the food, including use of the kitchen that I'd not seen ;-) Also, Sally and David brought more delicious stuff with them.
But of course, what was great were the conversations between guys, including some who had not net before ;-)
Anyway, this will have to do for now, and I've now made it public off my pages, including Family ;-)
from Robin on Thursday 5th June 2025 ...
Who was invited ? God knows - no spreadsheet by Samantha, or list kept by me :-) Who came ? I'll TRY and remember off the top of my head.
Sadly we didn't take many photos, and some left before those above. e.g. June, neighbours Richard & Fay Ince, Stu' & Sue below.
Who came ?: Stu' & Sue Quarrie, up from Southampton, so had to leave earlier than most. Here is an old (1998?) photo of Stuart, that links to my OnWater page: Wokingham Flatmate in 1970, Ferranti workmate, Wedding Best Man. (Alleged) front seat Navigator, when Steve Markham flew his Wolseley Straight Six off that hump back bridge on Forest Rd, near Binfield ;-)
Here is a start on that list of who came, helped by the photos above:
Robin's Silly Sister Sally, with partner David, and grand dauhter Theea with Jordan and Becky, down from Raunds near Northampton;
Robin's Sharp cousins on his mum's side of the family, including Steve & Rachel Sharp from near Oxford - took me a few seconds to recognise Steve,
so he kept showing me his name badge :-) then Steve's sister Wendy with hubby Paul Harding; then Lynette with husband Mick;
Most of the rest, anyone can recognise, off my
Family
page ... daughters Samantha, Saskia with hubby Gary Scrivens, Michelle; Neighbour Stuart Wicks sat opposite me;
As I've said before - that will have to do for now - help me if you can - particularly pictures. e.g. that birthday cake ;-)
A photo of June ? Maybe this, on my
Covid19
page, with June's hostile reaction to my giving her that present of saucy underwear. Robin is holding the sauce ;-)
Photo from Adriano of La Sorrentina, taken earlier in 2025, with bearded Robin giving Adriano a suitable salute of respect ;-)
Tap or Click on photos to expand, or visit a relevant page - if you dare ;-)
Tap or Click to enlarge that photo
on the right: the "Partying Area" if you turn right coming in. Pool table may be there
or moved.
Please take care taking any photos or video - IF you do. i.e. OK if posed,
and when you can be sure only those in it are happy.
Ideally any photos or video should
be suitable to become public. Robin prefers "landscape" mode, as seen on a TV screen, with 16:9 aspect ratio.
Remember that some guys should not be in the Comrades Club ;-)
Robin will provide a "name holder" for those happy to wear one. It will make it easier for the bar to provide you
free drinks, to go on Robin's bill. For that he will add something the bar will recognise, according to the individual.
e.g. "less than 2 pints of vodka" ;-)
Ideas & Offers welcome on things like Master of Ceromonies*, DJ, Cook, Entertainment.
We will maintain a list to total YES/NO/MAYBEs. Some may say YES late, but please say it before mid May ;-)

My budget for this get-together is considerable: equivalent to all June & Samantha's Greek Tennis holidays,
and their shopping trip to New York soon after 911. But I hate wasting money ;-)
For the few who do not know Sunninghill, you may like that old video on the left, from 1995.
Guys from The Jade ( Fountain ), such as Kenny, sometimes come into the Comrades Club.
Maybe our police friends too ? ;-)
Topics important to Robin, such as Pam Coughlan, are in that 44 minute video on right.
My fun will be in watching you all mingle.
Please make love and not war :-)
BUT PLEASE DON'T FORGET - let's also meet BEFORE Saturday 24th May ! :-)
Tap or Click on pictures to expand. e.g. views as you enter from front door. From left: memorial in corner; TV ; start of bar. That's Don puring a drink :-)
Bar continues to right.
Then to right of the bar: route to eating room & Gents toilets; Ladies toilets; dart board; pool table; another TV - a bit blurred ;-)
