07/09/199 To Whom It May Concern: Re: Nana Kofi Obiri-Veboab Kofi was introduced to me over the phone by the president of Black Theatre West and the editor of the Afro News newspaper. That was back in February 1997, he had then just returned from Southeast Asia. We were then looking for a presenter for a seminar we had jointly planned with the Vancouver Film School. He graciously accepted our request to be a keynote presenter. The theme for the seminar was “Careers in the computing and high-tech world”. The target audience was teenagers and their parents. Kofi did such an excellent job that at the end of the seminar most of the youth wanted careers in that field! He was very articulate and very systematic in his presentation. He demonstrated the ability to make every question look important and encouraged all to ask questions. I was so impressed with his method of presentation that I recommended him to the Neil Squire Foundation and other organizations dealing with the handicapped. These organizations are introducing the use of computers as a daily living tool and required unusually gifted instructors to establish the program. Most of the trainees have very short attention span and physically tire very easily. Each and every client he has trained had the same comments: He is very punctual, takes time to prepare his lessons, and shows one of the highest level of patience and tolerance they had ever seen! His rather good sense of humor has also been commented on! Over this period I have observed that Kofi gets along great with people, has an unusually active and logical mind and is not afraid to “go the extra mile”. Kofi is an unusually multi-talented person with background spanning software, aeronautical, television broadcasting, and control systems engineering. He has demonstrated several times over the period that I have known him, the ability to keep breast and at times ahead of technology. These characteristics in addition to others make him the ideal teacher in a business-computing course — the business world being a very dynamic one! I highiy recommend Kofi for any position that involves imparting knowledge to another.
